Team JeeHell A320 completed WorldFlight 2023. This was our second year joining this charity event. Last year our team was able to raise more than $1,500 across the three charities we elected to support.
WorldFlight is an annual virtual flight around the world raising money for charity. Teams from various countries join this event using their full-size cockpit simulators. WorldFlight has seen a number of different cockpits represented including Boeing 737s, 747s, 777s and Airbus A330s.
Virtual Air Traffic Control (ATC) is provided for the flights by VATSIM members around the world and also from the dedicated WorldFlight ATC center located at Chipping Norton in Sydney, Australia. The flights will take seven days to complete and are operated in real time as a regular airline would. Forty five minute turnarounds are scheduled after each sector to allow for crew briefing and cockpit preparation for the next sector. During the seven days the flights will visit close to 50 airports and cover some 40,000 nm.

Team JeeHell A320
Käpt’n Romeo had been contemplating the idea of joining WorldFlight for several years now. He is an avid flight simmer, who started with FS2 on Apple II, and has more than 3,000 hours on the VATSIM online network. In 2012, he started to get a taste of the WorldFlight week-long event by joining a few of the flights along the route circumnavigating the world. It has always been his intention to build a team to participate in the full WorldFlight event… After retiring last year, he decided that it was time to make this a reality!
In March 2015, Käpt’n Romeo began building a full-size, fixed-base, Airbus A320 home cockpit, which became “airworthy” for online flights in November 2015, and is nearly completed since 2019. One challenge however is that the cockpit is not really suitable to be opened to the public. During WorldFlight 2021, Käpt’n Romeo participated in 13 flights, including an uninterrupted segment of 14 hours. As he realized this was too much to fly alone, he came up with the idea of distributing the flights among other home cockpits able to fly an identical aircraft online.
As his A320 cockpit runs the “JeeHell” FMGS freeware, Käpt’n Romeo reached out to the passionate JeeHell community in early 2022. Within a few weeks three adventurous cockpit builders, located on two different continents, had decided to join him. Team WorldFlight JeeHell A320 was born!

Wings of Help
Based at Frankfurt Airport Wings of Help spreads its wings worldwide to help people in need. Areas of responsibility include the immediate care of children and families in need after natural and humanitarian disasters, as well as the transport of medical emergency patients from all over the world for medical treatment in Germany.
In addition to numerous aid projects worldwide, Wings of Help builds commuter schools for Children and adolescents. Their credo: Education is the sustainable basis for young generations who receive new perspectives and opportunities via electronic media and thus have access to the rest of the world.
Founded in 2003, Wings of Help works hand in hand with airlines, logistics companies and a large number of renowned German and globally engaged companies.
Corporate Angel Network
Corporate Angel Network (CAN) is a US-based 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help cancer patients access the best treatment centers by arranging free travel on corporate aircrafts. Business jet travel makes it possible for patients, especially those in locations with minimal airline access, to travel to specialized medical centers. Whether a patient is traveling for surgery, clinical trial, or a second opinion, CAN aims to reduce a patient’s physical, emotional and financial stress by providing a seat on a corporate flight.
Participation is open to all cancer patients, as well as bone marrow and stem cell donors and recipients, who are ambulatory and do not require medical assistance while traveling. Eligibility is not based on financial need, and patients may travel as often as necessary.
